Honolulu, HI- Taking on St. Martin's in their second home game of the week, Chaminade pounced on the Saints en route to a 92-73 victory. The Swords were led by Marko Kolaric with 14 points to go along with 15 rebounds (8 offensive) and Zack Whiting with 12 points, 12 assists and 8 rebounds.
Chaminade raced out to an early lead, up 30-15, and twenty points before the Saints got to within 12 at the break at 44-32. CUH continues to shoot the ball well, going 13-32 from the arc, with four Swords hitting three threes or more. Hayden Heiber led the three point barrage knocking down 4 threes that led to 12 of his 14 points. Heiber added three assists and four steals as well. Mike Green, Darrell Birton and James Francisco each added three more three's on the night.
St. Martin's gave a valiant effort on the boards, getting 18 offensive rebounds on the evening. Chaminade had six players in double figures on the night, including Whiting, Kolaric, Heiber, Green, Birton and Francisco. Chaminade shot 51% from the floor and 41% from three.
St. Martin's was led by Greg O'Neal with 17 points and 5 rebounds, while Justin Alexander and Tyler Nixon added 13 and 12 points respectively. Brendan Campbell added 10 rebounds. The Saints shot 42% from the floor and 38% from three. CUH out-rebounded St. Martin's 45-40.
With the loss, St. Martin's falls to 1-5 on the year, while the Silverswords improve to 2-3, and 2-0 against non-division I opponents.
Chaminade is back in action on Sunday, December 3 at McCabe Gym vs. Holy Names. Game time is set for 2:00 PM.
