Laie, HI- Taking on one of the toughest teams in tennis is no easy task. Despite all the Swords efforts, the Seasiders defeated Chaminade on both the men's and women's side in action last night.
Dave Robb gave the Swords some hope winning a point in each set off of the 12th ranked Seasiders #1 Jakub Huza, falling 6-1, 6-1. The rest of the singles matches were won by BYU-Hawaii. In men's doubles, the Chaminade combination of Robb/Tanaka fell just short by a score of 9-7.
On the women's side, Kim Chikazawa took a point in each set off of BYU-Hawaii #1 Jing Jing Liu. The Swords fell in the other five singles matches as well, having to forfeit the fifth and sixth spots.
In doubles action, Chaminade proved tough, falling 8-5 in first doubles and 8-3 in second doubles.
BYU-Hawaii improves 2-0, both men and women, while Both Chaminade teams fall to 0-1 on the young season. Chaminade is back in action on Saturday at UH-Hilo. First serve is set for 10:00AM.
