Chaminade Ends Great Year With Tough Loss

Seattle, WA- In a game marred in controversy, Western Washington defeated Chaminade 101-91 in front of a raucous crowd at Seattle Pacific University.

Both teams dealt with serious foul trouble in the first half, with starters from both teams sitting large portions of the first half. Even through foul trouble, the Swords were only down two, 48-46 at the half.

At the start of the second half, a Zack Whiting block out ended in an ejection, and CUH was without their All-Region point guard the rest of the way. Whiting had 11 points in the first half on numerous drives and post-ups. Corey Campbell led CUH with 23 points and Marko Kolaric had 11 rebounds in the loss. All-Region selection Chris Reaves had 14 points and 9 assists and Zack Whiting and Stewart Kussler each added 11 points for CUH. "We had a fantastic season, I cannot be more proud of the way our guys played this year. This team has the bar for the future of Chaminade basketball. Our seniors really stepped up and paved the way" said Coach Mahar.

Chris Nelson had 13 points, Dylan McCune finished with 10 as Chaminade shot 27-32 from the line (84%).

Western Washington was led by Grant Dykstra who had 29 points on 9-13 from the floor. CUH ends the year 19-9, the best record in school history. Chaminade was making it's first NCAA tournament appearance.
