Hilo, HI - Friday night in Hilo the Lady Swords battled to sweep the University of Hawaii Hilo. CUH moves to 6-1 in conference, nipping at the heels of Pac-West leader BYU-Hawaii (6-0).
Evelyn Bluthenthal led the Silverswords with 18 kills and a .256 kill percentage, Trina Kauliakomoa tacked on 15 kills. CUH outdug UH-Hilo 60-55 and outhit the Vulcans .205 to .146 on the evening.
The Swords led the battle offensively as well as defensively with those 60 digs, led by number #5 Chelsey Powell.
The two teams square off again Saturday in Hilo as Chaminade goes for the sweep of the season series. First serve is at 7:15PM.
