Swords Handle NDNU 75-70

Belmont, CA- In the second game in as many nights, Chaminade defeated NDNU by a final score of 75-70. This one was not quite as dramatic as last night's overtime affair, as Chaminade hit their free throws down the stretch to seal the victory and the season series over the Argonauts.

The Swords came out gunning against NDNU's zone and hit nine three's in the first half to lead 40-26 at the break. Darrell Birton hit four three's and six Chaminade players made a three on the evening.

The Swords shot 41% from three and 89% from the line on the night.

Zack Whiting led the charge for CUH with 23 points, 12 assists and 5 rebounds. Marko Kolaric added 12 rebounds and Stewart Kussler had 9 points to go along with 8 rebounds on the night. Chaminade was up double-digits most of the second half as the final score was as close as NDNU could get down the stretch.

Chaminade outrebounded the Argos 34-24 and outshot NDNU 47% to 43% for the game.

The Argonauts were led by Eric Bossom who had 19 points.

With the win, Chaminade improves to 12-6 overall and 4-2 in the Pac West. NDNU falls to 5-9 overall and 0-5 in Pac West play.

The Swords now head to Phoenix, Arizona to take on Grand Canyon University on Saturday, January 20th. Game time is set for 2:30 PM MT.
