Lahaina, HI- The Silverswords won in Maui for the first time in four years. CUH played well from the opening whistle as the Silverswords led the Tigers at halftime 34-29. Chaminade shot well in the first half, making 52% of the shots they took, opening up the five point lead.
The Silverswords dominated the inside game and out scored the Tigers 36 to 24 in the paint. Four players were in double digits for CUH, led by Stewart Kussler and Rodrick Johnson with 19 points a piece. When it was all said and done, Chaminade captured it's first win in Maui since beating the Wildcats of Villanova in 2004.
Seniors Marko Kolaric and Hayden Heiber both came up[ big for the Silverswords, Kolaric posted 15 points and 11 rebounds (his third double-double in three days) and Heiber had another impressive game with 16 points. He went 8-9 from the free throw line hitting clutch free throws to finish Princeton off.
For the third straight game Chaminade out-rebounded its opponent, beating the Princeton Tigers on the glass 30-26. The Silverswords shot 55% from the floor to the Tigers 47%. As a team, the Silverswords also shot well from the free throw line with a team percentage of nearly 78%.
Princeton team captain, senior forward, Noah Savage, led the way for the Tigers with 20 points.
"We played well all tournament long. We had a chance to win all three games, I was glad that we were able to capture the win against Princeton" commented senior forward, Stewart Kussler.
With the win, the Silverswords move to 2-2 overall. The Tigers fall to 2-3 overall. CUH is back in action on December 7th when they travel to Sonoma State University to face SSU.
