CUH Men's Basketball Defeats Asbury 87-65

Honolulu, HI- In Chaminade's final tune-up before conference play, the Swords took care of the Eagles from Asbury College 87-65. The Swords got out early, shooting 69% in the opening half in route to a 53-32 lead at the break.

The lead went to 27 within the first four minutes of the second half and the rout was on. No player played more than 27 minutes and no player played less than 17 minutes in the win for CUH. The Swords dominated the glass all afternoon, out-rebounding Asbury 37-26.

The Eagles lost leading scorer and rebounder Brett Johnson early on in the first half and did not have any answers after that. Stewart Kussler and Rodrick Johnson combined for 29 points and 11 rebounds inside, while Mike Green and Hayden Heiber added 24 points and 17 assists on the perimeter. Patrick Collier shot 5-9 from behind the arc and added 17 points for Chaminade.

The Eagles were led by Michael Spann with 11 points.

Chaminade moves to 5-4 with the win, Asbury moves to 9-6 with the loss.

The Swords are back in action on January 4th against Dixie State Game time is set for 7:30 PM at McCabe Gym. All Chaminade's contests the rest of the way are Pac West conference games.
