Final Stats
Rohnert Park, CA- A classic west region battle went Chaminade's way tonight in a 77-68 win over the Jacks of Humboldt State.
The game was tight throughout, but a 10-2 run with three's by Stewart Kussler and Patrick Collier and layups by Hayden Heiber and LaMarr Hunt put Chaminade up for good with just under six minutes remaining, leading 64-57. The game was never closer than that 7 points the rest of the way.
Chaminade shot 47% for the game and 50% from the arc. Stewart Kussler led all scorers with a career high 30 points on 11-13 shooting.
Marko Kolaric had his fifth double-double in five games with 11 points and 15 rebounds and Hayden Heiber also had a double-double with 13 points and 11 assists, to go along with 4 steals.
Rodrick Johnson nearly joined the double-double club with 9 points and 10 rebounds in the win. LaMarr Hunt added 11 points in twenty nine minutes of action.
Will Sheufelt led Humboldt State with 26 points and 7 rebounds, Devin Peel added 18 points and 7 rebounds. Kolaric won the battle of the posts, holding Cy Vandermeer to 1-13 shooting and 2 points on the night.
With the win, Chaminade improves to 3-3, while Humboldt State falls to 5-2. The Swords are off until December 17th when they face Lee University in McCabe Gym. Tip-off is set for 7:30pm.
