Honolulu, HI- Central Washington was ready to go this afternoon. So was Chaminade. The Lady Swords defeated the Wildcats in four, competitive games this afternoon in McCabe Gym.
Freshman outside hitter, Samantha Miller, was big all day with 23 kills and 16 digs for CUH. Vanja Radanovic added 14 kills (.407 attack %) and six blocks and Trina Kauliakamoa added 15 kills and 12 digs on the match.
Central Washington was led by Rachael Schurman and Kady Try who had 22 and 21 kills respectively for the Wildcats. Carlee Marble added 41 assists and Deidre Scheidt chipped in with 18 digs.
The match back and forth throughout as Central Washington outhit Chaminade .214 to .210, but Chaminade outdug and out-passed CWU.
In the final game (game four) the Silverswords really got going offensively, as CUH hit .356 for the game. Tanya Alvino was again impressive adding 52 assists and 6 digs to the cause.
With the win Chaminade moves to 6-1 on the year, Central Washington moves to 1-7.
The Lady Swords play again at 7:30 PM tonight in McCabe. The opponent is Northwest Nazarene who is 6-1 on the year, having just defeated #19 BYU-Hawaii in five games.
