CUH Men's Basketball Downs BYU-Hawaii in Laie 73-69

Laie, HI- It was a tale of two halves. BYU-Hawaii came out aggressive and took a 45-34 lead into the break. The Seasiders got off 14 more shots and committed 10 less turnovers in the first twenty minutes. Lucas Alves had 15 points in the opening half, but the Swords stayed within striking distance due to Rodrick Johnson's 15 points and Mike Green's timely three's.

The second half started with an 8-0 Chaminade run, cutting the margin to three points early on and the game was tight from that point forward. The Swords shot 41% in the second half and held the Seasiders to 30% shooting. Chaminade outscored the Seasiders 39-24 in the second half.

The Swords also out-rebounded BYU-Hawaii 39-30.

Chaminade was led by Rodrick Jonson with 25 points and 8 rebounds, while Mike Green shot 6-9 from the arc and finished with 24 points. CUH shot 41% from three.

Lucas Alves led the way for BYU-H with 27 points and 7 rebounds.

Chaminade moves to 9-4, 4-0 with the win, BYU-Hawaii moves to 7-4, 2-2 with the loss.

The Swords are back in action at home on January 16 against Grand Canyon. Game time is set for 7:30 PM in McCabe Gym.
