Honolulu, HI- It was another grind it out game. The first half was tight throughout, as Stewart Kussler's three to end the half sent CUH to the locker room with a 32-26 lead.
The Swords managed to open the game up halfway through the second half, taking a double-digit lead down the stretch. It was a lead they would never relinquish. CUH hit free throws all night, shooting 19-20 on the night (95%). NDNU was not far behind, connecting on 14 of 15 from the charity stripe.
Marko Kolaric was a presence inside, scoring 23 points along with 7 rebounds. Rodrick Johnson could not be stopped on the blocks and finished with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Stewart Kussler added 9 points and 5 rebounds.
Senior guard Mile Green had a career high 8 rebounds in the win.
Ryan Cooper led the way for the Argos with 14 points, including 2-3 from three. Chaminade held sharpshooter Chris Clock to 3 points.
Chaminade moves to 12-4, 7-0 with the win, NDNU moves to 4-9, 0-5 with the loss.
The Swords are back in action in Phoenix, AZ on Jan. 25th and 26th. Game time is set for 7:30 PM both nights against Grand Canyon University.
