Honolulu, HI, Vince Lombardi once said, "The dictionary is the only place that success comes before work. Hard work is the price we must pay for success. I think you can accomplish anything if you're willing to pay the price." The Chaminade Women's basketball team played their best basketball of the season at home tonight in McCabe Gym against the Argonauts of Notre Dame de Namur.
CUH was led by sophomore point guard, Samantha Saito, she scored a career high 22 points. She said on the game, "Today's game shows what we're capable of and it's anytime now that we get our first victory of the season." Senior Katherine Carlisle scored 19 points for the Silverswords. She said, "Although we didn't get the win tonight, we came out and showed what we are capable of and played until the end. That's what Chaminade Women's basketball is all about." CUH ended up losing a close game 66 to 58.
The Silverswords are coached by first year coach Christina Apisa, when asked about the game she said, "The score was not in our favor tonight, but the ladies have captured the essence of a competitive state of mind. Consistency will be the key to strive for success in order to win as a team. Success is a choice!!!" With each game the Silverswords are improving and continue to make every effort to capture their first win of the season.
