Chaminade Loses Heartbreaker to University of Indiana 81-79 in Maui

Lahaina, Maui- Chaminade capped off the 2008 EA Sports Maui Invitational with a heartbreaking loss to the Hoosiers of University of Indiana falling 81 to 79. Chaminade dominated in almost every category, rebounds, assists and free throws.   

 

Five players were in double-digits, with Joel Smith leading the Silverswords with 20 points and 10 boards. Juniors Jamar Berry, Shane Hanson and Noah Gottlieb all contributed for the Silverswords, Berry scored 13 points and had 5 boards, Hanson had 14 points and 5 boards, shooting an astounding 100% from the floor. Gottlieb contributed 11 points and dished out 6 assists for CUH.

           

Chaminade won the rebounding battle 32-27. The Silverswords continued with good success today from charity line, shooting 73% on the night. CUH shot well from behind the arc with a connect rate of nearly 53% to the Hoosiers 41%.

 

University of Indiana was led by Tom Pritchard with 19 points and 9 boards.

 

With the loss tonight CUH falls to 0-3 overall while the Hoosiers improve their record to 3-2. Chaminade next faces Carlton College on December 1st at home in McCabe Gym, tip off is set for 7:30PM HST.
