Honolulu, HI- The Swords made it two in a row tonight as they defeated Dominican College of New York handily 89-69.
The game was Chaminade's from the start, as the Swords got out to an early lead and never looked back.
Chaminade shot 52% from the floor and 42% from three in the win. CUH also dominated the glass, with Jamar Berry and Mohamed Tangara (18 points) getting 9 each.
Darrell Birton continued his hot shooting from three, knocking down 5-8 shots from distance while dishing out 6 assists. Joel Smith added 17 points and 7 rebounds and Rickey Clayborn and Jamar Berry each added 9 points.
The Swords had 23 assists to 13 turnovers. Junior point guard, Noah Gottlieb had 8 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Sophomore Cartier Carter had 6 points and 2 assists in his first long stretch of action for CUH. Chaminade led 44-31 at the break.
Dominican was led by Brandon Brock with 24 points on the night
Chaminade moves to 3-5 on the year. Dominican falls to 4-6. The Swords are off until January 3rd when they face Dixie State in St. George, Utah in the conference opener. Game time is set for 1:00 PM MT.
