WBB: Silverswords fall to Hawaii Pacific University 76 to 61

Honolulu, HI- Chaminade played great basketball tonight, despite losing to the Sea Warriors by a score of 76 to 61.  They were seven points at the break; junior Samantha Saito, led the way for Chaminade with 19 points and 6 boards. Senior shooting guard, Jasmine Dulan, posted 15 points and grabbed 6 boards off the glass against the Sea Warriors of Hawaii Pacific University.

 

 

Senior Jasmine Dulan when asked about the game tonight said, “We are getting better with each game. I am really proud of how we are coming together as a team and playing with such heart and determination each minute of every game. We almost pulled it out tonight, we have to learn to play all 40 minutes and not take any breaks in between. I am hopeful that we will capture that first W that has been eluding us all year.”

 

 

Despite playing great basketball, Chaminade was out rebounded 43 to 30. CUH shot nearly 40% from the floor while HPU shot almost 48%. The Swords capitalized on the shots from the charity line connecting on 75% of their shots, going 6 for 8. From behind the arch the Swords were a scorching hot 56%, they connected pm 5 of 9 shots taken.  

 

With the loss tonight Chaminade falls to 0-20 overall and 0-10 in the Pac West. Hawaii Pacific University improves their record to 11-14 and 7-4 in the Pac West. The Swords travel to Hilo to take on the Vulcans of University of Hawaii @ Hilo. They are set to tip off at 5:30PM on February 20 and 21st .

 

Chaminade get's one more chance HPU this season next week Wednesday February 24th  at McCabe Gym, tip off will be at 5:30PM.
