Phoenix, AZ – The Swords opened up PACWEST Play last night and fell to Grand Canyon University 104 to 60. CUH struggled shooting the ball last night, connecting on just 32% of their shots.
Kellene Costello was leading scorer with 16 points and she grabbed 6 boards for the Swords. Senior point guard, Samantha Saito added 13 points. She was perfect from three point land, going two for two. The Lady Swords continue to shoot well from the free throw line. As a team, they shot about 70%. Chaminade lost the rebounding battle 57 to 26.
With the loss CUH falls to 1-8overall and 0-1 in the PACWEST, while Grand Canyon improves their record to 7-5 and 1-0 in the PACWEST. The Lady Swords next play on January 9th at 5:30PM in St. George, UT. They take on the Red Storm of Dixie State. Tip Off is set for 530PM MST.
