UH got up early, leading 17-6 with 13:16 left in the first half, corralling five offensive rebounds in the opening minutes. The game went to the break with UH leading 42-27 after
Shane Hanson hit a three with 38 seconds left in the half.
Another three pointer from senior
Shane Hanson (Canyon Lake, CA/Temescal Canyon) cut the lead to ten with twelve minutes to go, but a 10-0 UH run extended the lead to twenty to put the Swords away.
Junior center
Mamadou Diarra (Bamako, Mali/Stoneridge Prep) led the way for Chaminade with 14 points and 13 rebounds, while senior point guard
Steven Bennett (Los Angeles, CA/Dorsey) added 10 points and 5 assists in defeat.
The Warriors were led by Joston Thomas with 25 points.
