Honolulu, HI – The Lady Swords played in front of nearly a packed house tonight against the visiting Sea Warriors of Hawaii Pacific University. CUH trailed by only 4 points at the break, 35 to 29. However, they ended up losing by a score of 78 to 56. BoxScore
Lynette Dalle, Samantha Saito and Jasmine Dulan played their last game tonight in McCabe Gym. Lynette Dalle scored 6 points and Samantha Saito and Jasmine Dulan each added 7 points a piece.
When asked about her playing career at Chaminade, Jasmine Dulan said, “It went by so fast and I can't believe I am done in just a few games. First off, I want to thank Coaches and all the trainers who helped me along the way. To my teammates, it's been real, I will miss you all so much and want to say thanks for everything. You guys are the best! To the underclass men, keep your head up and stay strong… Eventually we will get there!”
Kellene Costello was the leading scorer with 16 points. She was 50% from beyond the arch, shooting 3 for 6. She was a perfect 5 for 5 from the charity line.
Hawaii Pacific was led by Genesis Lewis who scored 20 points and grabbed 11 boards. Courtney Buster scored 14 points and grabbed 7 boards. While Jazzmin Awa-Williams rounded the Sea Warriors with 11 points 7 boards.
With the loss CUH falls to 1-19 overall and 0-12 in the PacWest, While HPU improves their record to 17-5 overall and 13-1 in the Pacific West Conference. The Swords travel to Hilo, Hawaii on Saturday and will play the Vulcans later that evening at 5:30PM. The Swords will than travel to the mainland and play all three of the California teams in the PacWest; Academy of Art University, Dominican University and Norte Dame de Namur.
