Saint George, UT – The Lady Swords took on the 11
th ranked Red Storm of Dixie State and fell by a score of 99 to 44, despite losing Chaminade never gave up and played hard all 40 minutes. Sophomore
Jamie Higa (Honolulu, HI/ Kalani), scored 11 points in defeat.
The Lady Swords shot just 26% from the floor, while the Red Storm of Dixie State shot 52% and nearly 36% from behind the arch.
Dixie State was led by Breann Hill, who scored 27 points and was 10 for 14 from the floor. Erica Nelson also contributed for the Red Storm with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Chaminade lost the rebounding battle 48 to 34. Dixie State committed just 14 turnovers to the Swords 26.
The Lady Swords next basketball game is February 3rd at home, in McCabe Gym. They challenge fellow PACWEST member, UH- Hilo. With the loss Chaminade falls to 1-12 on the year and 1-5 in the PacWest. While the 11th ranked Red Storm; improve to 16-1 overall and 6-0 in the PacWest Conference. Tip off for UH- Hilo is at 5:00PM HST.
