CUH MBB: Chaminade Earns Road Victory over Academy of Art 86-63

Six Swords tally double-figures

SAN FRANCISCO, CA- The Swords defeated the Urban Knights of Academy of Art tonight 86-63 in Pac West Conference action.

The Swords took a ten point lead (22-12) at the 10:18 mark and never looked back, taking a 43-25 lead into the break. 

The Swords won the battle inside as junior Matt Cousins (Santa Rosa, CA/Cardinal Newman) had 13 points and 11 rebounds and junior Mamadou Diarra (Bamako, Mali/Stoneridge) added 12 points and 9 rebounds. Chaminade outrebounded  the Urban Knights 48-27. 

Sophomores Dominique Cooks (Wollongong, AUS/Holy Spirit College) and Waly Coulibaly (Bamako, Mali/Patterson Prep) each added 10 points in the win. Rashaad Ubah (Riverside, CA/King) added 3 steals as the Swords held Academy of Art to 63 points. 

Senior Steven Bennett (Los Angeles, CA/Dorsey) added 17 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds for the Swords, while junior De'Andre Haskins (Long Beach, CA/Jordan) tallied 11 points in the win.   Eight Swords scored in the victory.

William Overton led the Urban Knights with 20 points.    
                      
The Swords currently ranked #5 in the latest NCAA West Region Poll, move to 16-7, 9-2 in the Pac West. AAU falls to 5-18, 2-11 in conference. Chaminade faces Dominican in San Rafael, CA on Saturday, Feb. 19th at 7:30 PM PT.
