HONOLULU, HI- The Silverswords fell to the Lancers of California Baptist 80-46 in a PacWest Conference contest this evening in McCabe Gym.

Rhani Kaneaiakala (Waimanalo, HI/Kamehameha-Kapalama) started tonight's contest with two made free throws and Chaminade opened up an early 2-0 lead against the Lancers of California Baptist University. CBU, currently second in the PacWest, answered with sixteen straight points to earn a fourteen point advantage at 16-2. The Swords responded to the Lancers run, but trailed at the break 42-24.
Junior
Markeshia Manning (Kapolei, HI/Pearl City) had a solid first half for Chaminade with 7 points and 4 rebounds. Chaminade shot 25% from the floor in the half, while CBU shot 41% from the floor.
Chaminade continued to compete in the second half of action but fell to the Lancers by a score of 80-46.
Rhani Kaneaiakala led the way with 11 points and 4 rebounds, while
Markeshia Manning added 9 points and 7 rebounds in 25 minutes of action. The Swords shot 30% from three on the contest, making 7 three's. CBU won the battle of the boards 51-32.
Cal Baptist was led by Simone Holmes with 15 points.
With the defeat, Chaminade moves to 1-19, 1-14 PWC. With the win, Cal Baptist moves to 19-5, 13-3 in the PWC on the year. The Swords face Azusa Pacific on February 21st in McCabe Gym. Tip is set for 5:00 PM HT.
