BELMONT, Calif. – The Chaminade University women's soccer team weathered a shot barrage from Notre Dame de Namur Thursday, managing to come out with a 0-0 double-overtime draw.
Lauren Ishii tied a season-high with 11 saves for the Silverswords (2-8-1 overall, 2-5-1 Pacific West Conference), who stopped a bevy of shots after halftime. The junior graduate from Mililani High School faced 19 shots after halftime and made eight saves in the second half and overtime. The shutout was also her third of the season.
The 'Swords defense also had a hand in the bagel, keeping the Argonauts (3-10-1, 1-6-1), the sixth-best goal-scoring and points-scored team in the conference, out of the net.
Lauren Uehara attempted two shots for the 'Swords in the game.
NDNU's Marisa Schneider tried to play hero at the end of both overtimes, but Ishii denied her twice, stopping her shot with 3 seconds left in the first OT and again with 20 ticks left in the second.
Chaminade faces Academy of Art on Saturday to conclude the road trip.
