LAIE, O'ahu, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University men's soccer team ended the 2015 season with a 2-0 loss to BYU-Hawai'i at BYUH Soccer Field on Saturday.
Jacob McRae accounted for both Seasider goals as BYUH finished the season at 10-8 overall and 7-5 in the Pacific West Conference.
McRae scored in the 16
th minute to give BYUH a 1-0 lead. The score held up until with just 18 seconds remaining in the game when McRae found the back of the net for an insurance goal.
Seniors accounted for all six of Chaminade's shots in the match.
Lukas Pousset took three shots, two on goal.
Nicolas Ferro attempted two shots while
James Meaney took one. Ferro ended his career as the program's second all-time leader in career points (17) and goals (8), trailing only Sam Galloway (2012-13) who has nine goals and 18 points. Meanwhile Pousset finished his career third in points (16) with six career goals, which is tied for fourth all-time.
Bernd Buescherhoff started at goalkeeper for the 'Swords and took the loss in making one save.
Rene Mejia, playing in his final game as a Silversword, started the second half and also had a save.
BYUH net minder Mark Stanley got the win to improve to 5-3.
The Silverswords ended the year 1-14-1 overall and 1-11-1 in the PacWest.
