BELMONT, Calif. – The Chaminade University men's soccer team ended the 2016 season with a 5-0 loss to Notre Dame de Namur Saturday at Koret Field.
Esteban Beruman accounted for all five goals for the Argonauts (9-9 overall, 7-6 Pacific West Conference). He stunned the Silverswords by scoring 44 seconds into the match then scored again in the 25
th minute. Beruman then converted a penalty kick in the 60
th minute for his third goal of the afternoon. After assisting on the Argos' next score, he then added his fourth goal of the day in the 72
nd minute. Beruman's hat trick plus one gave him 15 goals on the season.
The short-handed Silverswords took five shots on the afternoon.
Yoshinori Tamukai took two, one on goal.
Nick Kraus also had an SOG.
Tyler Braunthal and
Cody Kuge took the other 'Swords' shots.
Bernd Buescherhoff made nine saves in taking the loss. NDNU's Alex Clewis got the win.
Picked to finish dead-last in the 14-team conference according to the Preseason PacWest Coaches Poll, the Silverswords finished in 10
th place with 16 conference points and a 5-7-1 conference mark, 5-9-1 overall.
