SAN DIEGO – The Chaminade University men's soccer team's road trip continued Monday but came up on the short end of a 2-0 result to Point Loma at the PLNU Soccer/Track Complex.
Two goals in a 3:36 span midway through the first half was all the Sea Lions needed to earn the win.
Curtis Coburn (Huntington Beach, Calif./Huntington Beach) took a team-high three shots for the Silverswords who fell to 2-5-1 overall and 1-4-1 in the Pacific West Conference.
Tyler Braunthal (Pearl City, Hawai'i/Mililani),
Jaewon Huh (Aiea, Hawai'i/Aiea) and
Tyler Ebisuya (Kaneohe, Hawai'i/Iolani) each took one shot.
Bernd Buescherhoff (Steinfeld, Germany/Gymnasium Lohne) made four saves for Chaminade.
Despite trailing 2-0 at the break, the Silverswords managed to play even ball with Point Loma (7-2-2, 4-0-2 PacWest) holding them to five second-half shot attempts while taking five themselves.
The Silverswords return to the pitch Thursday when they face No. 9 California Baptist.
