KAILUA-Kona, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University women's tennis team opened the Holua Invitational with a 7-0 loss to Hawai'i Hilo Saturday at the Holua Tennis Center.
Salamasina Te`i (Hau'ula, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Kahuku) provided the most competition in singles action, taking Marina Colvee to in a 6-1, 6-3 loss in No. 2 singles. Also,
Caitlin Tatemichi (Honolulu/Roosevelt) fared well in No. 6 singles before dropping a 6-1, 6-1 decision to Irena Le.
Tatemichi and
Tomomi Kohno (Tokyo, Japan) also played well in No. 3 doubles against the Vulcans' duo of Hina Nishida and Gabriela Aguilar Law.
The Silverswords (0-2) face the Vulcans (1-2) again on Sunday.
