ATHERTON, Calif. – The Chaminade University women's tennis team on Saturday faced off against Menlo College, falling by a 7-0 count, at the Menlo College Tennis Courts.
Menlo, which is undergoing its certification process to join NCAA Division II from NAIA, won the required two-of-three doubles matches to take the point.
Although the Oaks took all six singles matches,
Berylin Lau (Wailuku, Maui, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Maui) proved to be competitive in her No. 3 singles match against Milana Hrudka.
The 'Swords are 0-6 on the season while the Oaks are 6-2.
Menlo was Chaminade's second straight opponent who has applied for NCAA D-II certification and membership in the PacWest. The team faced William Jessup on Friday. Like Menlo, WJU has applied for NCAA D-II and PacWest membership.
The Silverswords will face fellow PacWest member Dominican University of California on Sunday at DUC's Castellucci Family Tennis Courts in San Rafael.
