HONOLULU – The Chaminade University women's soccer team ended their exhibition slate in style Wednesday with a 4-0 shutout of Lincoln University at Saint Louis Field.
Kenna Kiefer scored twice while sisters
Gracie Knowd and
Madelynne Knowd also found the back of the net to help the Silverswords win their second exhibition in as many contests.
Kiefer bookended the Chaminade scoring with goals in the 28th and 89th minute.
Gracie Knowd scored the 'Swords' second goal in the 48th minute on an assist from
Clara Slate-Liu while
Madelynne Knowd's score at 72:01 was assisted by
Brynn Shimabukuro.
Kiefer's second goal was set up on
Kaila Levoit's long throw in from the near sideline.
Naomi Takata got the start in goal for the first half to get the win while
Jordhan Kieres played the final 45 to preserve the combined clean sheet.
The Silverswords out-shot the Oaklanders by a whopping 36-to-0 count. They also have not allowed a single shot during the 180 minutes of exhibition play.
The Silverswords open the regular season Saturday against Northwest Nazarene, runners-up of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference who are also receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Top 25 Poll. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m.
