HILO, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University men's soccer team on Saturday put a wrap on the 2024 season with a 5-0 loss to the University of Hawai'i Hilo at Vulcan Soccer Field.
The Silverswords ended their year at 1-10-3 overall and 1-7-3 in the Pacific West Conference.
The Vulcans scored the first goal in the 14th minute by Colby Lee, then scored twice in a matter of less than 90 seconds to lead 3-0 at halftime.
The 'Swords were held to two shots taken by
Ruben Aguiniga (Chula Vista, Calif./San Diego Christian College/Montgomery HS) and
Kala'i Duncan (Kapolei, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Kapalama).
Jonah Valmonte (Poolesville, Md./Robert Morris University/Poolesville HS) made four saves in goal.
UH Hilo improved to 11-5-1 and 6-4-1 in the PacWest to clinch a spot in next week's PacWest Championships in Irvine, California.
