HILO, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University women's soccer ended their 2024 season Saturday with a 4-0 loss to the University of Hawai'i Hilo at Vulcans Soccer Field.
The Silverswords were held to four shots, tying their season-low as the Vulcans used 29 players in their final home match of the year.
Savannah Breeze Miranda (Aiea, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Aiea) took two shots for the 'Swords in her final career match.
Kenna Kiefer (Vail, Ariz./Cienega) and
Clara Slate-Liu (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada/Ecolè Alpha Secondary) each had a shot at the net.
The Vulcans scored twice in a three-minute span early in the first half then added two more goals early in the second. Teani Arakawa accounted for all four scores with two goals while assisting on two others.
Jordhan Kieres (Lakewood, Ohio/Bellermine Univ./Lakewood HS) had one save in her final match in a 'Swords' uniform.
UH Hilo (12-1-3, 9-1-1 PacWest), ranked 22nd in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, finished as the PacWest co-regular season runner-up.
Despite the loss, the Silverswords finished their year with a 6-5-5 mark, their fourth straight winning championship season. They also ended the year at 5-3-3 in the PacWest with their 18 conference points matching the all-time high they had last season.
