HILO, Hawai'i -- The Chaminade University men's soccer team put a wrap on the 2025 season Thursday with a 3-0 loss to in-state rival University of Hawai'i Hilo at Vulcan Soccer Field.
The Silverswords took three shots on the afternoon with
Owen Caba (West Linn, Ore./West Linn),
Kayden Medeiros (Pukalani, Maui, Hawai'i/Western Oregon University/Kamehameha-Maui HS) and
Vlad Tomutiu (Belmont, Calif./Canada College/Carlmont HS) each taking single shots at the Vulcans' goal.
Jonah Valmonte (Poolesville, Md./Robert Morris University/Poolesville HS) made seven saves in his final appearance in a Chaminade uniform.
UH Hilo (9-4-2, 6-2-1 Pacific West Conference) got the go-ahead score in the 18th minute then added goals in the 55th and 75th minutes to help them maintain a strong position in next week's PacWest Championships in Santa Barbara, California.
The Silverswords, who had two wins and a draw in their previous three contests, finished the season at 2-9-2 overall and 2-6-2 in the PacWest.
