HONOLULU – The Chaminade University women's basketball team made their McCabe Gymnasium opener on Sunday with an 86-47 exhibition win over Northwest Indian College.

Lauren Gould led the Eagles with 15 points.

Chaminade shot 50.8 percent from the floor while holding NWIC to just 13-of-71 from the floor for 18.3 percent including 5-of-37 (13.5 percent) from 3-point range. The 'Swords also outrebounded the Eagles, 62-to-34.

The Silverswords held NWIC to just five free throws before the Eagles, who were 0-for-their-first 15 from the floor, finally got a shot to fall, a desperation 38-foot heave from Jasmyne Torres as the first quarter clock expired. By then, the 'Swords led 26-8.
