HILO, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University women's tennis team ended their season Wednesday with a 7-0 defeat to the University of Hawai'i Hilo at the UH Hilo Tennis Courts.
The Silverswords lost all three doubles matches, awarding the doubles point to the Vulcans.
In singles matches, UH Hilo took Courts 6 and 5, respectively, to take a 3-0 lead. In No. 3 singles,
Kirra Carvalho (Lihue, Kaua'i, Hawai'i/Kaua'i) lost her match to Mila Srebro which clinched the win for the Vulcans, but she did manage to win a game in the first set.
Selena Buttery (Brockway, Pa./Brockway) also took a game in Court 4 while
Berylin Lau (Wailuku, Maui, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Maui) won two in the first set in Court 1.
The 'Swords' most competitive match was in Singles 3 when
Isabella Minaudo (Honolulu/Hawai'i Technology Academy) took four total games in her 6-1, 6-3 defeat to Akari Ichikawa.
The Silverswords ended their season at 0-13. UH Hilo is 7-9.
