HONOLULU – The Chaminade University women's basketball team continued their final home stretch of the season Tuesday, dropping a 73-43 decision to Point Loma at McCabe Gymnasium.
Alyssa Schuetze (Temecula, Calif./Great Oak) led the Silverswords with 15 points, hitting 7-of-11 shots from the field.
Kylie Squier (Branchville, N.J./Pope John XXIII Regional) added another eight in the scoring ledger while
Julien Parado (Ewa Beach, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Campbell) had one of her best statistical games with eight points, eight rebounds and four assists.
Emma Sales led the Sea Lions (17-5, 13-3 Pacific West Conference) with 14 points.
Despite a first half start, Chaminade managed to put it together in the final 20 minutes, being outscored just 33-27.
The 'Swords (0-19, 0-15 PacWest) shot a shade under 34 percent from the field while pulling down 30 rebounds with 10 assists. They also forced Point Loma into 19 turnovers
The Sea Lions hit 44.3 percent of their shots with nine 3s and 10 free throws, pulling down 42 boards and 22 assists.
The third game of their six-game home stand is Thursday against Fresno Pacific. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
