2014 (Senior): Academic All-Pacific West Conference honoree ... named team's Most Inspirational Player ... played in 24 matches and 67 sets with one start, coming on Senior Night against No. 9 BYU-Hawai'i (Nov. 15) ... averaged 3.19 assists per set with 214 assists ... tied for third with 19 service aces ... ranked 10th in the Pacific West Conference in aces per set (0.28) ... also had 81 digs, nine kills and five total blocks ... had season-highs of 33 assists and three kills vs. Academy of Art (Oct. 30) ... recorded season's only double-double of 21 assists and 10 digs in final match of career vs. BYUH (Nov. 15).
2013 (Junior): Named to the PacWest All-Academic Team ... played in five matches ... had 13 assists, averaging 2.6 per set ... tallied four digs and had one kill ... had a season-high four assists and three digs in the season-opening win vs. Alaska (Aug. 31).
2012 (Sophomore): Played in eight matches ... recorded 21 assists, averaging 1.62 per set.
2011 (Freshman): Competed in 18 matches, starting five at setter .... finished the year with 213 assists and 4.95 assists per set ... set career-highs with 47 assists, 12 digs and four kills vs. Dominican (Oct. 30) ... had two double-doubles ... named to the Pacific West Conference All-Academic Team.
University of Hawai`i: Did not compete in athletics.
High School: A two-sport standout for the Mustangs of Kalaheo High School. Ka Ua averaged nine assists per set, 18 assists, two aces, and four kills per match and voted volleyball team MVP in 2006 and 2009. Named to the 2nd annual OC16 Senior Volleyball Invitational South Team where she was named Impact Player of the Game on the opening night. Averaged 14.8 points, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals per game for Kalaheo’s girl’s varsity basketball team, leading the team in scoring in 2008, '09, and '10 and being selected to play for the '09 Hawai`i Select girls basketball team, named OIA Honorable Mention for both sports in 2007, '08, '09 and '10. Ka Ua received Kalaheo’s outstanding achievement in team sports in 2008, academic achievement in earth science in 2010 and named outstanding senior female athlete in 2010. She maintained a between 3.9-4.0 GPA during her four years of high school, being named to the honor roll all four years and graduating summa cum laude.
Personal: The daughter of Michael and Kanani Cale, Ka Ua was born in Kailua, O`ahu. One of three children, Ka Ua has one older sister, Nicole, and one younger sister, Tesia. Hobbies include: Beach, sports, shopping, reading, and cruising with family and friends.
