Biography
2013-14 (Senior): Named to the Pacific West Conference All-Academic Team ... due to an injury, played in only five games, making four starts … averaged 21.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game … was 22-of-47 (.468) from 3-point range … in his debut in a Silverswords’ uniform, made five 3-pointers en-route to a 30-point, 7-rebound, 3-assist game in the season opening win against Western Oregon in the PacWest/GNAC Challenge (Nov. 8) … burst on the national scene with a 42-point outburst – 31 in the first half – against 18th-ranked Baylor in the team’s opening game of the EA Sports Maui Invitational (Nov. 25), falling one point shy of the tournament single-game scoring record while tying the EA Sports Maui Invitational and school records for 3-pointers made with 10 … had a season-high eight rebounds against Minnesota (Nov. 27) … came off the bench and scored 19 points on 5-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc in what turned out to be his final game of the season against No. 7 Dixie State (Jan. 4).
Previous School: Played three seasons at Florida Gulf Coast. Was a key member off the bench for the Eagles, averaging 6.1 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. Scored 11 points in FGCU's shocker over San Diego State in the NCAA Division I South Regional second round, as Florida Gulf Coast became the first 15-seed to advance to the Sweet 16. Scored 10 points in the loss to Florida in the South Regional semifinal. Had a season-high 18 points against Florida International (Dec. 13, 2012). Was named to the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Freshman Team in 2010-11 with a career-high 29 points vs. Stetson (Jan. 25). Knocked down 178 3-pointers, second-most in FGCU history. Eighth-leading scorer in Eagles' history with 856 career points.
High School: Attended Worcester Academy in Massachusetts. Averaged 17.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in his one season at Worcester. Ranked as the 20th-best recruit in Massachusetts, according to the New England Recruiting Report.
Personal: Mother is Christiane Varidel. Has a brother, Yanick. Majoring in business. Choose Chaminade because he wanted to experience life in Hawai`i.
