Randy Yamashiro joins the Chaminade University baseball team after a successful stint as a high school head coach. He will assist with the pitchers in the bullpen and help on the bench. He will also be the Silverswords' recruiting coordinator.

In the program's first year of resurrection, the Silverswords won 15 games with eight Pacific West Conference victories. Outfielder Ryan Ruch finished the 2024 season on the All-PacWest Second Team as well as earning conference Freshman of the Year honors after hitting .371. First baseman Casey Kuddell was also named all-conference, earning third team kudos. But perhaps even more impressively, 30 members of the team were named Academic All-PacWest.

Yamashiro was the head coach at Maryknoll School in Honolulu, leading the Spartans to three Hawai'i High School Athletic Association Division II state championships.

While coaching at Maryknoll, Yamashiro was also a local major league scout liasion, helping several teams in the Majors evaluating potential draft candidates.
