Arthur King

Arthur King returned to the Chaminade University men's basketball team in the 2022-23 season and is in his ninth for the program in 2025-26. King coached with the men's squad from 2012-13 to 2016-17 before becoming Chaminade's women's head coach in 2017-18. He rejoined the men in the 2022-23 season.

Before joining Chaminade in 2012, he had worked for seven years at the Pete Newell Big Man Camp for professional and collegiate players instructing footwork and body balance. King also coaches at the Pete Newell Tall Women/Tall Boys camp.

In between his assistant coaching stints at CUH, King was the head coach for the Silverswords' women's basketball team for five years from 2017-22 where he is second in program history with 14 wins. His 2018-19 squad saw them win seven games which tied the team record for single season victories. He also helped guard Destiny Castro become the program's all-time leader in points and steals as well as being the only four-time All-PacWest honoree in Chaminade women's basketball history.
           
King coached in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH) at Le Jardin Windward Academy, 2002-2008, and Christian Academy, 2009-2011, boys and girls Intermediate, JV and Varsity.

King is an alumnus of Chaminade, receiving a BA in Business Management and a Master's of Science in Counseling Psychology. Playing under legendary head coach Merv Lopes, King led the 'Swords in scoring and rebounding, averaging 19.1 points and 9.3 rebounds per game while shooting at a 60.9 percent clip in the 1987-88 season. He ranks third in program history in rebounds per game (8.0) and is eighth in the team's record book in field goal percentage at a 57.9 percent clip.
