The 2016-17 season will be the fifth year for Kawika Villa with the Chaminade University men's basketball team and his first as the full-time assistant.  Prior to joining the 2012-13 Silversword staff, Villa held positions as a Graduate Assistant and Student Manager in the Men's Basketball program at Hawai`i Pacific University.   Villa has over 16 years of basketball playing and coaching experience and played collegiate basketball at Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois.  Aside from coaching at the local high school level, Villa conducted private basketball instruction for Starting 5 Basketball, LLC, until his appointment at Chaminade.  Villa is responsible for player development and recruiting for the Silverswords.
 
Villa is a graduate of ASSETS School in Honolulu, Hawa`i, and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Justice Administration and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Hawai`i Pacific University.  In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Villa is a lecturer in the Business, Legal, and Techonology Department at Kapi'olani Community College.  He currently resides in Kailua with his wife, Chani, and their son, Kawekiu.
