Biography
2013-14 (Senior): Named to the All-Pacific West Conference Academic Team ... played in 23 games with 16 starts, including the final 12 games of the season … averaged 4.3 and 3.0 rebounds per game … made 17 3-pointers on the year … also had 21 assists and five blocks … season-highs of 13 points and five assists against Saint Martin’s (Nov. 9) … pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds at Dixie State (Feb. 15) … hit three 3-pointers in the upset of top-seeded California Baptist in the semifinals of the Pacific West Conference Tournament (March 7) ... named the team's Scholar-Athlete.
2012-13 (Junior): Started the first 10 games of the season before an injury sidelined him for the remainder of the year. Despite playing only a handful of games, still buried 18 3-pointers. Scored a season-high 22 points in his debut in a Silversword uniform against St. Martin's (Nov. 9), hitting all five of his 3-point field goal attempts, making 6-of-7 shots total. Had a season-high nine rebounds along with nine points against defending NCAA Division II national champion Western Washington (Nov. 14). Named to the PacWest All-Academic Team.
Oregon State: Played in eighteen contests for the Beavers in 2011-12. Had nine points in 14 minutes against West Alabama on November 14,, connecting on all three 3-point attempts. Lost the 2010-11 season due to injury after redshirting in 2009-10.
High School: Attended Barker College, where he was a three-time Australian High School National High Jump Champion with a personal best of 7 feet, 2 inches.
Personal: The Son of Robyn Cameron and Jon Murphy, Rhys was born in Canberra, Australia and has two siblings, Ella and Georgia. Rhys is majoring in accounting at Chaminade and enjoys snorkeling.
