2019-20 (Redshirt Senior):  Named the Pacific West Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year for a second straight year, becoming the conference's first-ever repeat winner of the award ... also named D2 CCA West Region Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year ... named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team and CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 … named to NABC and D2CCA All-West Region Teams … garnered All-Pacific West Conference First Team honors … named PacWest Men’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year for a second straight season … Academic All-PacWest … three-time PacWest Player of the Week (Nov. 11, Jan. 27, Feb. 3) … earned the team’s Carolyn Berry Wilson and David Wilson Most Outstanding Award for Men’s Basketball … Chaminade’s Male Student-Athlete of the Year … PacWest’s leading scorer at 20.8 points per game, becoming the first Silversword to finish as the conference’s scoring champion since 2006-07 … shot 55.2 percent from the field, tied for fourth in the PacWest … averaged 5.5 rebounds per game which ranked second on team and 20th in the conference … started 24 games before suffering a season-ending injury at Concordia (Feb. 15) … averaged 1.7 assists and 30.1 minutes per game … 3-point percentage of 35.9 (14 of 39) and free throw percentage of 73.9 (82 of 111) … hit double-digits in all but one game … had 14 games of 20 or more points including three games of 30 or more … career-high 36 points in win over national-ranked Azusa Pacific (Dec. 4) then matched it vs. Holy Names (Jan. 23), making 12-of-13 field (92.3 percent) and 11-of-11 free throws … had two double-doubles, tying career-high of 10 rebounds twice, last vs. Notre Dame de Namur (Jan. 11) … tied career-high of five assists in season opener vs. Alaska (Nov. 9) … also tied career best in steals twice, last at Hawai‘i Pacific (Jan. 16) … had 14 games of shooting over 50 percent (10 or more attempts).

2018-19 (Redshirt Junior):  Earned All-Pacific West Conference First Team, PacWest All-Tournament Team, PacWest Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year, PacWest Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year and Academic All-PacWest honors ... named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Second Team ... named to the Hoops in Hawai'i D2 Power Invitational Third Team ... team's Scholar-Athlete for third straight year ... started all 31 games ... finished second on team in scoring (17.7 ppg) and steals (1.2), first in rebounds (6.6 rpg), and tied for first in total blocks (14) ... led PacWest in field goal percentage at 59.0 percent (196-of-332) which was ranked 21st nationally ... shot 77.5 percent from the free throw line (145-of-187) ... recorded first career double-double (30 points, 10 rebounds; both career-highs) in PacWest Tournament semifinal vs. Concordia (March 8) while attempting tournament-record 16 free throws ... shot over 50 percent in 25 games including in 18 of final 19 contests ... was 10-of-12 from the field for career-high 83.3 percent shooting vs. Biola (Jan. 31) ... career-highs of five assists (at Fresno Pacific, Dec. 31) and four steals (at Dominican, Jan. 5).

2017-18:  Redshirted ... named team's Scholar-Athlete.

2016-17 (Sophomore):  Team's Scholar-Athlete and earned Academic All-PacWest honors ... played 28 games ... averaged 3.1 points and 2.3 rebounds in 12.0 minutes per game ... shot 52.6 percent from the floor and 33.3 from the free throw line ... also had 18 blocked shots with five multi-block games ... career-high 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting at BYU-Hawai'i (Dec. 19) ... season-highs of six rebounds vs. BYUH (Jan. 19) and four blocks vs. No. 8 Hawai'i Pacific (Feb. 25) ... season-best three steals at Dixie State (Feb. 4).

2015-16 (Freshman):  Named to the Academic All-Pacific West Conference honor roll ... played in 21 games ... averaged 0.7 points and 1.2 rebounds per game with seven assists, five steals and two blocks ... had season-high four points in win vs. BYU-Hawai'i (Feb. 20), making both field goals ... had season-best four rebounds vs. Viterbo (Dec. 31).

High School:  A 2014 graduate of Newbury Park High School in Newbury Park, Calif. … garnered multiple awards as a senior, including Marmontee League Player of the Year, All-California Interscholastic Federation 2A First Team … was also a San Fernando all-star, the Most Valuable Player of the Ventura County All-Star Game and is in the Ventura County Basketball Hall of Fame … played club basketball for the Basketball Training Institute (BTI).
 
Personal:  Parents are Chris and Kim Cartaino of Newbury Park, Calif. … has a younger brother, Ryan … following graduation, spent the 2014-15 academic year at the Impact Basketball Academy in Las Vegas for a post-graduate year of prep school … received his degree in Accounting in Spring 2019 and is currently pursuing an MBA.
