High School: Was a three sport athlete for the Hurricanes. Was a member of the cross-country, basketball and track teams. Was named the Team MVP for Cross Country, as well as the Athlete of the Year at Kapolei High in 2004-05. Ryan qualified for states in track in the 800m and the 4x400 in both 2004 and 2005. In cross country, he qualified for the 3 mile in both 2004 and 2005. 

Personal: The son of Beth and Ted Dela Cruz, Ryan was born on June 23, 1986. Has two sisters, Taylor and Ashlee.
