The 2019 season marks the first for Robert "Bobby" Mundon as an assistant coach for the Chaminade University softball team.
Mundon, who has been on staffs of numerous softball teams during a long coaching career, will oversee the Silverswords' pitching staff.
Most recently, he was an assistant coach at Kailua High School for 10 years, instructing both pitchers and hitters. Under his guidance, he helped the Surfriders to back-to-back Hawai'i High School Athletic Association appearances in his final two years at KHS (2011, '12). He also was an assistant at Sacred Hearts Academy in 2004 and the Na Kolohe A.C. club team from 1997 to 2002.
A Kapa'a High School alumnus on the island of Kaua'i, Mundon was a pitcher for the University of Hawai'i Hilo under long-time head coach Joey Estrella from 1980 to '81.
