Dawn Dela Cruz joined the Chaminade University softball team for the 2022 season as an assistant coach and is the team's primary first base coach.
Dela Cruz was a four-year member in Silverswords where she patrolled the outfield from 2009 to '12. She was a three-year starter starting from her sophomore season, posting a career .220 batting average with 34 RBI and 17 doubles along with a fielding percentage of .938. Her best hitting season came as a junior where she posted a .238 average and a .300 slugging percentage. In her senior year, she hit her only career home run, a grand slam in an 8-5 win against Notre Dame de Namur on March 10, 2012.
A Moanalua High School graduate, Dela Cruz was a two-time All-O'ahu Interscholastic Association First Team and second team all-state selection in both her junior and senior seasons.
