The 2016 season will be the second year for John Hansen as an assistant coach for the Chaminade University men's and women's cross country teams.

Hansen is originally from Fairfield, Connecticut, and attended the University of Connecticut where he played lacrosse for the Huskies. He then moved across the country and the middle of the Pacific Ocean to O'ahu where he enrolled at Chaminade to continue his college education. While at CUH, he joined the Silverswords' men's cross country team which was assisted by current head coach Shadrack Nabea.

Following his graduation from Chaminade, Hansen became an assistant cross country coach with Pac-Five from 2011-13. He then became the cross country head coach at St. Andrew's Priory from 2013-14 before returning to Chaminade as an assistant.
