Coach Blake Mosley is in his fifth year at the helm of Chaminade Women's Tennis in 2011-12. The 2010 ITA West Region Coach of the Year, whose 40-54 career record makes him the Silverswords' all-time winningest coach, is set to field another strong team this year.
Mosley has put his stamp on the Silverswords in his five years in Kaimuki. Over the past five seasons, the Silverswords have garnered more wins than in any year in the previous history of the program. The Swords also has finished as high as third in the Pac West Conference (2010).
It shouldn't have been a surprise as Coach Mosley didn't come to the Swords with a lack of experience. CUH has a leader who started as a Head Tennis Professional at Padre Isles Country Club (among others), was an NCAA assistant at Texas A&M Corpus Christi, and coached and competed in Austria and Switzerland. Coach Mosley has also been certified via the US Professional Tennis Association at the level of Pro II.
Mosley (the player) was ranked the #3 men's player in the Texas Open Division in 1999 before heading to Europe.
Starting in 1999, after coaching at Texas A&M Corpus Christi under current Texas A&M Head Men's Tennis Coach Steve Moore, Mosley was off to Austria. Chaminade Women's Tennis Coach was playing #1 singles and doubles for TC Goetzens in the Austrian Club League while coaching many rising stars in Austria. Following that, Coach Mosley continued playing and coaching, then in Switzerland, playing #1 singles and doubles for TC Pfaffikersee and serving as a traveling coach at the International Tennis Academy in Switzerland.
Coach Mosley is looking forward to continued success on Waialae Avenue. "I am excited to continue to build a strong women's tennis team here at Chaminade."
Prior to Chaminade, Coach Mosley had been coaching in Hawaii, working with state and nationally ranked players. With over 15 years of coaching experience at many levels and at many locations, Chaminade has another great asset.
