She oversees eligibility guidelines for Chaminade student-athletes and files reports to the NCAA and Pacific West Conference. She also was an advisor for the Chaminade Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for two years.

Before moving into an athletics administration role, Deven spent three seasons (2012-15) as the Silverswords' women’s volleyball assistant coach. She was the program’s full-time assistant with head coach Kahala Kabalis Hoke and was also a volunteer assistant under Nahaku Brown in 2011.

Deven graduated from the prestigious NCAA Women’s Coaches Academy in May 2013, which only a select few from across the nation can attend. There, she learned about management, administrative, ethics, leadership, legal issues and communication skills.

Deven played collegiate volleyball at Cal State Fullerton and was named to the Big West Conference All-Freshman Team in 2006. She was a part of the biggest upsets in Titans volleyball history, downing perineal national power UCLA in 2008.

She received her Bachelor’s degree in American Studies from CSUF and earned her Master’s of Science in Counseling Psychology degree with an emphasis in Mental Health from Chaminade in December 2018.

Deven prepped at The Kamehameha Schools (Kapalama campus), where she was a two-year letter winner in volleyball. She was named to the all-state first team during her senior year in 2006 and garnered all-state honorable mention honors as a junior. She helped guide the Warriors to an ILH championship in her senior year, and later that year, the HHSAA title, which began a string of consecutive state championships for Kamehameha-Kapalama. She also played club volleyball for Jammers VBC.

Deven continues to give back to the sport of volleyball, coaching once a week for Ka Ulu Koa - The Volleyball Institute Hawai'i. She also coached for HI Intensity Volleyball Club from 2012-19.
