Sterling Hansen joined the Chaminade University women's volleyball coaching staff in July 2026 as a volunteer assistant coach.

Hansen has over a decade in head coaching experience at the club level which includes stops in Reno, Nevada; Orem, Utah; Fresno, California; and in Honolulu. His responsibilities include the age 17 level with player development, team systems, tournament preparation and match management. He also prepares players in the collegiate recruitment process.

His other head coaching gig was at Damonte Rach High School in Reno, putting together match strategies, in-game decisions and helped in the team's annual fundraising drive.

Hansen's collegiate experience includes stops at his alma mater, Utah Valley University, and longtime Division II powerhouse BYU-Hawai'i. His roles included Director of Operations, manager and statistician.

Hansen graduated with his Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Utah Valley. He earned a Associate of Science degree in the same field from BYUH and also received a Master's of Arts degree in the same field at the University of Nevada.
