Previous School: Played volleyball for two years at Brevard Community College in Melbourne, Florida.  In both seasons at BCC, Spencer was named MVP of the Pioneer Classic and was also selected as First Team All-Conference.  Matia graduated from BCC with an Associate of Arts degree in 2012.
 
High School: Graduated in 2010 from Dayton High School in Dayton, Nevada.  Spencer played volleyball and basketball at the Varsity level from her freshman thru senior years and was also an active member of her school's Student Council and National Honor Society.  She also played competitive club volleyball in her neighboring city for three years at Silver State Volleyball Club.
 
Personal: Born and raised in Dayton, Nevada, Matia is the daughter of Rob and Renee Spencer.  She has three brothers and one sister.
