Gale T. Prentiss, MD is board-certified in sports medicine and is a Kaiser Permanente Provider. She is a board member of the Hawai'i Academy of Family Physicians and at the annual conference, has spoken on concussion management, joint injection and exercise prescription while also teaching a splinting and casting workshop.
Dr. Prentiss was the head team physician for the University of Hawai'i Athletics Department. Her duties included providing health, wellness and injury care for all UH athletes, and supervising the athletic training staff and room. She is also a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American College of Sports Medicine.
Dr. Prentiss attended medical school at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa John A. Burns School of Medicine. Her family practice internship and residency at the Scottsdale Healthcare in Arizona where she served as chief resident. Her sports medicine fellowship was with the University of California Davis/University of California at Berkeley Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program.
